WHO WE ARE

Filson Consulting was founded in 2017. Its a Canadian company that provides IT business consulting services to public and private sector organizations nationally.

Since 2017, we have provided consulting services to several organizations such as Manitoba Public Insurance, Government of Manitoba, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and DXC Technology.

WHAT WE DO

Business Analysis: We work together with stakeholders, business sponsors, executives and subject matter experts to understand business needs and recommend solutions that deliver value to the organization. Our team of business analysts are requirement experts with the knowledge of various IT applications, such as networks, relational databases, server systems, enterprise resource systems (ERPs), business intelligence, customer relationship management solutions, survey and analytical, process mapping tools, reporting systems, project management and system design methodologies.

Project Management: We are accountable for delivering projects on time and on budget to meet the organization’s objectives. Our team has several years of experience in all phases of the project management from the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, to the project closure.

Enterprise Architecture: Our enterprise architects work together with the organization to design and maintain a reference data architecture – including business applications (O365, ERP, HRIS, e.g.), shared infrastructure (LAN, Storage, Security) and application services. Also, we define architectural principles and standards to ensure IT solution decisions are aligned with the future architecture vision.

Business Process Engineering: We analyze, develop, engineer and implement business workflow processes to support business products and services. Also, we work together with business users, subject matter experts, and IT staff to highlight opportunities for process improvements and business process automation.

Change Management: We have experience developing, implementing and managing large-scale, cross-functional organizational change initiatives, as well as working with diverse stakeholder and project team members across all levels to ensure buy-in and commitment to the transition process. We develop change management strategies and plans to determine the impact of the change in the organization, and help the organization prepare and manage change.

Software Development: Our team of software developers have several years of experience in managing the production code from conception to completion, as well as selecting platforms and languages that most efficiently achieve company goals; and consistently develop and deploy code that improves system usability and performance. Also, our team has knowledge in programming languages, such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL.

Quality Assurance System Testing: We conduct in-depth quality assurance testing to ensure the quality of the projects and meet the organization’s expectations. We have experience in both manual and automated software testing methods. We have been involved in all phases of the software testing life cycle (STLC) from requirements analysis, test planning, test cases development, test environment, execution and reporting. Also, we ensure that defects are documented, tracked and reported to facilitate timely resolution.

Our core team has over 50 years of combined business consulting experience in Information Technology. Our resources have accreditation in CBAP, PMP, PROSCI, IITL, and hold Masters level business degrees.
